What a weekend. I spent most of it holed up in my house resting. The weather in Vegas has been pretty cold and rainy for almost a week. As a matter of fact, the sun did not come back out until yesterday, the day of my friend, X-Man's 32nd birthday party.
Truth be told, it has been an entire birthday weekend. It all started when we met up on Saturday night at Dragonfly,an asian eatery, for drinks and tapas, then headed out for a night of dancing in celebration of my boy.
We DANCED! I loved the fact that the club was not packed, because we ran up in there in record numbers. I was in heaven because the DJ played Janet Jackson records all night long.
We had such a good time that I woke up the next morning with a side-splitting headache. Though I did not appreciate it, it was well worth it.
Tall_T stopped by my house to pick me up the morning following the night out so we could pick up X-Man and take him out for the afternoon. He did not know, but it was our job to get him out of his boyfriend's house so that he could get every thing ready for the party and give everyone a chance to get over there.
For anyone who knows, X-Man has been missing in action for the last 4 or 5 months. He is in a new relationship and we all know how friends act when they start dating someone. As a matter of fact, we actually had to call him out because he kept calling his boyfriend while we were out with him!
Anyways, we had lunch and got manicure and pedicures before heading back to the house (I don't know how his boyfriend fournd this house. It is out in the middle of NOWHERE! I mean, I had heard of the boondocks, but had never seen them for myself. Now I know what a boondock looks like. His neighborhood!). It was a great moment, seeing my friend genuinely surprised when he walked in the door.
It was a cute get-together.
Though he denies it, I see him fusing his life with his new boyfriends. He spent quite a bit of time with him and his friends. Though it stung a little, my friend seemed genuinely happy and that makes me happy.
I'm glad you had a great time. I would have bugged out too with the Janet Jackson songs.
I love the whole vibe of this blog. I am going to keep coming back. Not to mention I have a lot of reading to do on here too.
Stay blessed
